Objective
Return a number that has already been claimed in Admin Console.

Procedure
- Log in to Admin Console.
- Click Phone Numbers.
- Check all numbers to be returned have Number Status Available. If you wish to remove a number from your account which is Assigned, then check below what action is needed to make it Available.
- Auto Attendant - Select the auto attendant, remove the telephone number from Phone Numbers. Click Save.
- Ring Group - Select the ring group, remove the telephone number from Phone Numbers. Click Save.
- User Voice - There are two options, depending on whether or not you still need the user account:
- User still needed - Select the user. View the Voice Basic Settings section. Select a new Phone Number for the user. Click Save.
- User not needed - Select the user. View the Services and Permissions section. Click the X next to the user's license. Click Continue. Click Save.
- Once all numbers to be returned (removed from your 8x8 account) are in the Available status you can click on the More menu (three dots) and select Return number to 8x8.
- If you are returning multiple numbers, you can check the box to the left of each number to make multiple selections. Once all of the numbers have been selected, click on the Return numbers to 8x8 button in the upper right.
- A dialog box will appear asking, "Are you sure?" Click Continue to complete the process and return the numbers to 8x8.
Numbers which are Returned to 8x8 will leave your 8x8 account. This frees up the associated license, allowing you to claim a new number instead. Once a telephone number is returned, it will remain available for you for 90 days to relaim, if you change your mind.
