Create or Edit Lobby License Extensions Without a Device Assigned

Objective

Create or edit SIP credential only extensions without a physical device in Admin Console.

  • Admin Console

Procedure

  1. Log in to Admin Console.
  2. Select Users.
  3. Create a new user or edit an existing user.

  4. Under Services and Permissions, select the appropriate license type.

Changing license types will either add or remove access to features. You will be prompted before completing this step. The prompt will appear for both new or existing users whenever the license is changed.

* The MS Teams integration is a paid add-on service.
If you are using a Lobby license, you are requred to declare a device. See the next section for additional steps to be done in Voice Basic Settings for Lobby licenses. If you are using an X1 or higher license, the Device type is not required in Device model.
If the extension was created by bulk upload, this is required if anything needs to be edited on the extension in Admin Console.

Update Voice Basic Settings for Lobby License Only

  1. Under Voice Basic Settings for a user with a Lobby licences, select Analog voice device.

  2. Select Add new terminal (a pop-up window will appear).
  3. Select Obihai OBi 300 1 port SIP ATA.

  4. Name the terminal anything that will remind you that it is a placeholder.
  5. Select Add Device.
  6. Verify all changes have been completed.
  7. Select Save.
  8. Create a case with 8x8 Support using the subject Updated SIP Credential Request (for existing extensions) or New SIP Credential Request (for new extensions).
