Question
What DNS Servers are recommended when setting up 8x8 services?
Applies To
- DNS
- Networking
Answer
It is best practice to first set up the DNS with the DNS from your Internet Service Provider (ISP). However, if issues still arise you can set the 8x8 GTM on the phones. Below is a list of DNS servers for multiple common ISPs. It is not recommended to use Google DNS or OpenDNS as this will likely cause geo-routing issues. You may see mixed results with Cloudflare DNS.
Note: If you are setting up custom DNS on the phone, you have to set static IP first. See Set a Static IP on a Poly Phone.
