Why is my 8x8 number not receiving SMS or OTP authentication requests?

Answer

8x8 SMS is done through local and international numbers. Messages and one-time passwords are sent from providers to authenticate such as banks use shortcodes to send the message.  An 8x8 number may sometimes receive these messages but because short codes are not supported, sending SMS messages to these numbers will fail.
Note: If a number is assigned as an additional number on the User Profile and not as the main or primary DID of the profile, it won't be able to receive text or send text messages.
