How to Initially Set up a User’s Voicemail Access PIN

Objective

Set up a user's voicemail access PIN.

Applies To

  • Admin Console
  • Voicemail

Procedure

When a user is created in Admin Console, the admin has a choice to either lett the user set their own voicemail access PIN (default) or set one up for the user.
If Users will set their own access PIN is selected, the end user will set up their access PIN by dialing 555 from their own extension (dialing 500 from another extension will not work) and when prompted for the PIN, press #. The user will hear a message that says "The password you entered does not meet security requirements." and will be prompted to enter a new PIN twice before giving a confirmation message. Once the pin is established, the user will have full access to their voicemail settings from their extension or from another extension (by dialing 500).
This process applies to Lobby licensed users as well. The Voicemail Settings in the Admin Console user profile is not visible for Lobby users but the process to set the initial PIN remains the same.
