How do I make a conference call on my deskphone?

Objective

Make a conference call on a range of phone makes and models.

Procedure

Conferencing multiple parties during an active calls is as simple as a couple of button presses. To create confrence calls, view the steps for your phone model below. If you don’t see your model listed, refer to the user manual for your phone.

Cisco (3-way call max)

Cisco phones support up to 3-way calls:
  1. During an active two-way call, press the Conference button or Conf soft key to place the first call on hold and open a second line. (You should hear a dial tone)
  2. Dial the new party’s phone number.
  3. When the new party answers, press the Conference button or Conf soft key again to join all parties.
To end the call and allow the other parties to continue talking to each other, press the Join soft key. There is no option to end the call for all parties at once. You must end the call for each individual party.

Poly (3-way call max)

Poly phones support up to 3-way calls:
  1. During an active two-way call, press the Conference button or Confrnc soft key to place the first call on hold and open a second line. (You should hear a dial tone)
  2. Dial the new party’s phone number.
  3. When the new party answers, press Conference/Confrnc again to join all parties.
To end the call and allow the other parties to continue talking to each other, simply hang up. If you wish to end the call for all parties first split the call and end each call individually.

Yealink (10-way call max depending on model)

Yealink phones support up to 10-way calls depending on the model (see model specifications for your Yealink phone):
  1. During an active two-way call, press the Conference soft key to place the first call on hold and open a second line. (You should hear a dial tone)
  2. Dial the new party’s phone number.
  3. When the new party answers, press Conference again to join all parties.
Repeat this process until the maximum number of callers has been reached. Hang up to end the call for all parties. There is no option to end the call and allow the other callers to continue speaking to each other.
