8x8 Work for Freshdesk After Login Page Goes Blank

Symptom

You have installed the 8x8 Work integration for Freshdesk.
  1. In the 8x8 communication panel, select Settings (gear) > Integration > Freshdesk.
  2. Click Connect. The browser should open a page to enter the Freshdesk user email and password.
  3. After entering and submitting the Freshdesk email and password, the page will appear blank and the 8x8 integration does not connect.

Applies To

  • 8x8 Work integration for Freshdesk.

Resolution

When prompted for the Freshdesk email and password, enter the Freshdesk API key for the email, and leave the password box empty, then click Submit. You can find the API key in your Freshdesk account by navigating to Profile > Profile settings > Your API Key.

Cause

In the Freshdesk instance the email/password authentication is deprecated.
