How to set Algo 8180 as Ringer

Updated: 09/30/2025

Problem

Algo 8180 functions as a pager, and not a ringer.
When the customer wants to use the Algo extension in a Ring Group, so it can alert by ringing over the speakers instead of paging.

Solution

The Algo needs to be activated using SIP Credentials.
How to factory reset the Algo:
  • If the Algo has already been activated using the Provisioning URL, then factory reset the device by navigating to the System tab and selecting the Maintenance tab.
  • In the Backup/Restore Configuration section, select the Restore Defaults button.
