Manually configure your Yealink AX Wi-Fi phones using the phone’s hardware and web interfaces for 8x8 services.

Wi-Fi Configuration
Before provisioning your AX device, you must first enable and configure Wi-Fi, and then connect it to your Wi-Fi network. At first boot, the device will display a configuration wizard.
- Select the appropriate Language and press the Next softkey.
- In Wi-Fi, select Available Networks and press the Enter softkey.
- Select the network SSID from the list and press the Connect softkey.
- Enter the Wi-Fi Password and press the Save softkey.
- Press Next to skip the Time Zone setup, as these settings will be provided later by 8x8 provisioning.
- Enter and confirm a new password, then press OK to complete the initial setup.
- Important: Passwords must meet the following requirements:
- Eight or more characters
- Must Include three of: numbers, uppercase, lowercase, and special characters
- Three consecutive identical characters are not allowed.
If the entered password does not meet the above criteria, a screen will be displayed indicating valid options. Pressing OK will return to the password entry screen.
The main screen will be displayed once the steps above have been completed. The Wi-Fi connection will be indicated at the top right corner of the screen.
Obtaining a Device’s IP Address for 8x8 Provisioning
Once your device is connected to your network through Wi-Fi, you’ll need to obtain its assigned IP address for later, when you manually provision your phone to 8x8’s service.
- From the main screen, press the round center button, just below the center softkey.
- Select the Status (i) icon and then press the center button again, just below the center softkey.
- Note the device’s assigned IP address, as displayed on the screen.
Obtaining a Device’s MAC Address for 8x8 Activation
If you will activate the device on 8x8’s service using its MAC address, there are two ways to obtain it from the device.
Obtain the MAC Address from the Device Label
- Your device’s MAC address can be found on the label beneath the battery.
Obtain the MAC Address from the Status screen
- From the main screen, press the center button, just below the center softkey.
- Select the Status (i) icon and then press the center button again, just below the center softkey.
- Scroll down to the MAC address.
- Press the Back soft-key twice to return to the main screen.
Manually Provisioning a Phone into Production on the 8x8 Service
Your device must be provisioned for 8x8’s service before it can be activated and used with 8x8.
- In a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as the phone, navigate to the phone’s assigned IP address, obtained earlier.
- Enter the Username of admin and the Password created earlier.
- Navigate to Settings > Auto Provision.
- In Server URL, enter the following line and click the Confirm button:
- https://ylcfg.8x8.com/yealink
- Scroll down and click the Auto Provision Now button.
- Click OK in the pop-up window.
- Allow several minutes for the phone to reboot and connect to the 8x8 servers.
- Once reboot is complete, your phone can be activated on 8x8’s service.
Reset a Device to Factory Settings
Follow the steps below if there is ever a need to reset your device to factory settings.
Note: For this procedure, you will need the phone’s current IP address and admin password, which you can obtain using the instructions above in this article.
- Log into the phone’s web GUI by navigating to its current IP address in a web browser.
- Navigate to Settings > Upgrade.
- Click the Reset to Factory Settings button.
- Click OK on the pop-up window to initiate the factory reset. The device will reboot, and will be restored to its factory default settings, including the password.

Important: You will need to re-provision and then re-activate the phone to restore its connection to 8x8 services after a factory default reset.
Password change: Once the phone is reset and reprovisioned, its admin password will change again to a new password instead of the factory default, and can be looked up in the 8x8 Admin Console. Please see:
