Overview
On November 13, 2025 8x8 will end support for many older web browsers which use outdated TLS 1.2 ciphers.
This change will result in an error message appearing in the affected web browsers when attempting to access 8x8 services, preventing users from logging into or using 8x8 Work for Web at work.8x8.com as well as several other 8x8 services, listed below.

What does this change affect?
This change affects access to 8x8 Work for Web at work.8x8.com using the web browsers listed here.
Note that this change affects outdated web browsers on both personal computers and mobile devices.
Why is this happening?
This is being done in order to keep 8x8 services secure by remaining compatible only with web browsers that continue to receive security updates. All of the deprecated web browsers have reached their own end of life from their respective software providers, and no longer receive security updates.
What will happen if a user tries to log into 8x8 Work using an unsupported browser?
Starting November 13, 2025, if users visit 8x8 services using an unsupported web browser, the web page will not load and the user will receive an error message.
Are 8x8 Work for Desktop and Mobile affected by this change?
No, installable 8x8 Work applications are not affected at all by this change. This change affects only legacy/out-of-date web browsers.
Does this mean that TLS 1.2 is reaching its end of life?
No. The affected (older) web browsers use different TLS 1.2 cipher suites for data encryption than modern browsers, which also generally also use TLS 1.2 or better.

To ensure the utmost security as you use your 8x8 services, access to the 8x8 Configuration Manager for Contact Center, Agent Workspace, Supervisor Workspace, 8x8 Work for Web, 8x8 Analytics suits, along with API calls to these systems require up-to-date web browsers or libraries compliant with TLS 1.2 or better:
