What is a user profile and what can I do with it?

The User Profile is the page where phone extensions and privileges are assigned that enable you to use 8x8 phone services. Required User Profile fields include name, username, and email address. Password reset notifications are sent via email, so it’s important to keep email addresses current.
It is imperative that each extension in your system is joined to a single, unique User Profile.
View User Profiles
- Log in to 8x8 Admin Console.
- Click Users.
- You will be taken to the Users screen where you can view all the User Profiles.
Edit a User Profile
- Log in to 8x8 Admin Console.
- Click Users.
- Click Edit (pencil icon) next to the user you would like to edit.
- Make your desired changes.
- Click Save.
Note: The user's photo can not be edited via Admin Console. The user's photo can be edited directly from 8x8 Work or if their work email has a gmail domain, whatever photo is there will sync to the 8x8 Work account.
Additional Information:
If a user is no longer with your organization, it is not recommended to update the User's profile with a new employee as a user profile is tied to many areas, and usually leads to the new user getting locked out of their account, MFA not being updated to new phone number, calls forwarded aren't updated correctly, etc. It's best to fully offboard the old user and then set up the new user.
