Receiving an Error with Multiple Failures when Creating a New User

Symptom

When attempting to create a new user, an error appears saying "User settings saved with errors. Failed at extension create, 8x8 Work Meeting update subscription, Phone Number allocation, Phone Number assign, sending welcome email, Setting caller ID."

Procedure

Review the Main Line Number settings for the Site of the User:
  1. Click Home.
  2. Click Site.
  3. Scroll down to the Voice Service Settings section.
  4. Verify that the Set Main Number as Caller ID option is enabled.

  5. Check if there is a number present in the Main Line Number dropdown.
  6. If not, continue to step 8.
  7. If there is a number present, verify that it is still on the account.
    1. Note the number displayed.
    2. Click Home.
    3. Click Phone numbers.
    4. Enter the phone number into the Search Phone Number bar.
    5. Press Enter.
    6. The following message appears when the phone number is not on the account.

    7. If you see this message, then you'll need to return to the Site page and select a new Main Line Number.
  8. Click on the Main Line Number dropdown list.
  9. Locate the desired phone number.
  10. Click on the phone number.
  11. Click Save.

Additional Information

This occurs because the system cannot locate the a valid value to use as the External Caller ID, which causes the user creation process to fail.
