Other Options

  • Get a New Number - If you’re receiving too many spam calls, you can ask your 8x8 system administrator to assign you a new number. Make sure to update your contacts and systems with the new number. Tip: Use the options above to help protect the new number from spam as well.
  • Use Auto Attendants or Ring Groups to Screen Calls - Auto Attendants can prevent spam and robocalls by asking callers to press a button to continue. Example: “Thank you for calling. Press 1 to reach our team.” Robocallers typically can't respond to prompts and will be filtered out. You can configure this in the 8x8 Admin Console.
  • Report Spam to Regional Communications Agencies - You can report spam and robocalls to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) through FCC Consumer Complaints. Canadian users can report spam calls to the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission. UK users can report spam calls to the UK Telephone Preference Service.
  • Join the National Do Not Call Registry - To reduce telemarketing and sales calls, register your number with the National Do Not Call Registry. This won’t stop scammers, but it helps reduce legal telemarketing calls.
